Random Drama Journeys is a series where Total Drama contestants went on random Pokemon journeys.

Basic Info

All 84 contestants of Total Drama went on a random Pokemon journey, then the results were tallied to see who got luckiest. For simplicity's sake, the version used was a short one that can arguably be called the most famous version. However, the contestants soon ran into a problem regarding Arceus, Silvally, and their abilities; so the people that did get them on their teams had to start over. Then everyone thought it was over, only for BT Productions to reveal that those who got "child of Mew" as the greatest impact had to take part in Mark II or else they would be deemed Mary Sues or Gary Stus. After everyone went, a spin-off was produced where rivals face off against each other to become Champion and try to avoid Necrozma.

Rules

  • The 84 contestants were split up into their debut generation (Island, Revenge, Pahkitew, Ridonculous) and went in order of placement.
  • Then they rolled dice to select their answers.
  • If a contestant captured Arceus and/or Silvally on their first go around, they had to start over.
  • If a contestant got "child of Mew" as the greatest impact on their first go around, they had to use Mark II. Contestants that already had to start over because of the "Arceus/Silvally Rule" are immune to this.
  • Once everyone went, it is up to the audience to see who got luckiest.

Contestants

The subheadings below detail each contestant's adventure. Contestants go in alphabetical order here.

Alejandro

Alejandro started his adventure after finishing college on a partly cloudy day.

Amy

Amy started her adventure at ten years old on a sunny day. Amy wanted to be a master coordinator. Amy then receives a Smoochum as her Starter Pokemon, but she is mad that Leonard took Minun, which she considered to be a way better option than Smoochum. Strangely, Smoochum seems to display the same hatred as Amy did, making the Smoochum be practically Amy's twin. Amy then faces a wild Pokemon attack, but her Smoochum was able to triumph with little resistance. Amy gets a Simisage next, but it doesn't seem to like Smoochum's behaviors.

Anne Maria

Anne Maria started her adventure after finishing high school on a cloudy day.

Beardo

Beardo started his adventure after finishing college on a partly cloudy day. Beardo wanted to discover new Pokemon. He was one of two Pahkitew Islanders to start with a Mega Pokemon, the other being Sky. Like Sky's Medicham, Beardo's Abomasnow liked him and became friends immediately. Beardo then faces a wild Pokemon attack. Like Sky, Beardo managed to barely win against his obstacle. Beardo captures a Drowsee, making him the only Pahkitew Islander whose first two Pokemon love each other dearly. Beardo and Sky also share the trait of only stopping to sleep when it became too dark to continue. Beardo rarely approaches civilization, which is somehow better than Sky, who never visited civilization because of Necrozma. Beardo next obtains a Bronzong.

Beth

Beth was one of the two Islanders who grew up with Pokemon, the other being Harold. While Harold got nice weather when he started his adventure, Beth got worse treatment, suggesting that she grew up in a vastly different place. Beth wanted to discover new Pokemon.

Blaineley

Blaineley started her adventure at age 15 on a rainy day.

Brick

Brick started his adventure after finishing high school.

Brody

After Brody protected the Pahkitew Islanders from the dangerous side effects of Light That Burns The Sky, he soon developed a "Necro-obsession". In fact, rumors say that Brody started the whole "Necro-obsession" arc within the Ridonculous Racers in the first place. Despite starting the craze, Brody was unsuccessful in obtaining a Necrozma for himself, as he instead captured Reshiram. He still calls the encounter the one with the greatest impact on him.

Cameron

Cameron started his adventure at ten years old on a cloudy day, making him the only Revenge character to start the adventure at age ten. Cameron started in Littleroot Town and was about to get his starter, when Lightning suddenly attacked him and dumped him at the Cave of Origin, leaving him to die. One of his Pokeballs does capture Kyogre, so he manages to escape without much trouble. After that incident, Cameron resolves to be a master coordinator so he can show the world what he is really made of. Though Cameron considers himself lucky that Kyogre liked him at all. But the thought of another attack by Lightning remained on Cameron's mind, so he sets out to get revenge on Lightning, unintentionally causing the natural disaster that his other Revenge friends faced at the start of their journeys. Cameron does catch up to Lightning, but the real obstacle was the treacherous route in front of them. They eventually give up and have Dawn and her Xatu fly them out. However, this is when Cameron faced potential punishment because his Pokemon caused the disaster that his friends had to endure. He escapes and encounters a wild Litleo. He cannot risk sending out Kyogre after what he faced earlier, so he throws a Pokeball and catches Litleo without a fight (somewhat like Ash Ketchum capturing a Caterpie). The combination of Fire and Water types in the team does cause tension, so Cameron just decides to grin and bear it. Cameron is also the only Revenge character to walk even after the sun sets. He cannot afford to face another near-disaster like the one at the start of his journey, so he only visits civilization if he needs supplies. Things seem to turn around when Cameron scores a Shiny Pokemon in the form of a Poliwhirl. Since the Water type dominates his team, the members seem to be cooperating well. But there is also Litleo, so the team could use some work. Nonetheless, Cameron keeps beating the obstacles through his dumb luck, in a similar manner to what he faced on Total Drama. Despite the Water dominance, Cameron eventually finds out about Poliwhirl's potential to become part-Fighting and makes the connection to Litleo. Thus he realizes he works best with Fire, Electric, and Fighting types. Cameron fleshes out his team with the new additions of Delphox, Magneton, and Throh. Cameron does score some more luck when he realizes that his Magneton is a Shiny Pokemon. By this point, Cameron's team is doing excellent, though they still get jealous when Cameron gets a chance to meet someone new. Looking over his team some more, Cameron realizes his best course of travel is through the water. True to his motivation, Cameron has traveled around the world. The toughest Pokemon that Cameron faced was a Tentacool. It was the leader of a rather massive swarm of Tentacool. It was so massive that it took all of Cameron's Pokemon just to get through them. Cameron's world travels eventually pay off as he discovers a hidden landmark of great beauty. Even though Cameron admits to being fascinated with all of the Pokemon the world has to offer, he eventually gets overwhelmed by the sheer amount of species of Pokemon. Though this does not matter since Cameron is concerned with making his Starter the best there ever was. He uses features such as Pokemon Amie to raise his Starter's stats to the max. Cameron's world travels then end as he concludes his journey in Kalos.

Carrie

Carrie started her adventure at age 15 during a cloudy day.

Chet

Chet started his adventure at age 15. Chet was one of the racers who took down the criminal organization trying to steal Jen's Necrozma.

Courtney

Courtney started her journey at age 10 on a sunny day, making her the only Islander to start the Random Drama Journey at age 10. She started her journey because she wanted to meet new Pokemon. She gets a Lairon as her starter, but it was wary of her. Courtney's final team is of the jealous type.

Crimson

After Sky's whole "Necrozma arc", the Ridonculous Racers suddenly had their own little "Necro-obsession" as they call it, as they wanted one for themselves. Crimson was one of the racers who actually got her hands on one. Crimson is the last racer that got Necro-obsession during Round 1. Like Sky, Crimson eventually decided to have her Necrozma be in its Normal form. But this is only because she deemed Ultra Necrozma to be "too bright" for her tastes, as she is a goth along with Ennui. Crimson was one of the racers who took down the criminal organization trying to steal Jen's Necrozma.

Dakota

Dakota started her adventure after finishing college on a partly cloudy day, making her the only Revenge character to start the adventure in partly cloudy weather. Dakota is also the only Revenge character whose motif for starting the adventure is to explore lost places. Dakota then scores the "SHINY BONUS" by receiving a Petilil as her Starter Pokemon. Petilil liked Dakota. Dakota was one of two Revenge characters that faced the sapling, the other being Jo. Unlike Jo who managed to achieve victory, Dakota failed miserably. Dakota next captures a Deerling, and it seems to be good friends with Petilil.

Dawn

Dawn started her adventure after finishing college. However, she was one of the Revenge friends that fell victim to the natural disaster that Cameron's Kyogre caused (though in Cameron's defense, he was only seeking out Lightning). Dawn was motivated by the catch 'em all motif. Dawn then receives a Xatu as her Starter Pokemon, and it liked her. Dawn faced a criminal team member as her first great obstacle. She manages to triumph with little resistance. Xatu later flew Cameron and Lightning out of the route after they gave up. Dawn next scores the "SHINY BONUS" by capturing a Dedenne, but it ignores Xatu, most likely because of the type match-up. Dawn only stops to sleep once it became too dark. Dawn is also a very frequent visitor of civilization. While the relationship between Dedenne and Xatu was bad enough, it reached a breaking point once Dawn decides to try out a job in containing and taming Ultra Beasts (thus capturing a Stakataka). Since Xatu was the only team member that even took a liking to Dawn, it carries the weight should the going get tough for her. At some point, Dawn started liking Dedenne and wanted to give it some buddies, thus pursuing the Fire/Electric/Fighting combo. Dawn then captures a Houndour, a Geodude, and a Scraggy in that order. But even that effort did not work, as Dawn's team is left to be a mess. Dawn's best course of travel is through the wilderness. The journey took Dawn all around the Pokemon world.

Devin

Devin started his adventure at age 15 during a partly cloudy day. Devin wanted to be the best racer there ever was.

Dwayne

Dwayne was one of four racers that suffered from the "memory-erasing accident" event during Round 1. Of the four racers, Dwayne got the worst outcome of this, as he was one of ten racers that got attacked by disasterous weather caused by a mysterious Pokemon (later revealed to be Topher's Lunala during Round 2). Dwayne was one of the racers who took down the criminal organization trying to steal Jen's Necrozma. It is later revealed that Dwayne has to compete in Round 2 because he got the Child of Mew event (or else he risks being called a Gary Stu). Since growing up with Pokemon is no longer an option, Dwayne has to graduate from college so he can start Round 2 (in a similar fashion to Topher). Dwayne began Round 2 during a sunny day.

Ella

Ella started her adventure after finishing high school on a rainy day. She wanted to be the best Pahkitew Islander there ever was. Ella then obtains a Rockruff as her Starter Pokemon. Ella is aware of Rockruff's violent nature and sings to it in an attempt to calm it down so it can befriend her, but it backfires horribly. Rockruff continues trying to kill Ella despite her multiple attempts to calm it down with her songs. Ella faces a rival battle as her first great obstacle. Since Rockruff still had the violent nature, it manages to win with little effort. Ella next captures a Klink, but it proves to be just as violent as Rockruff, as they are constantly battling each other. Worse, Ella's songs still won't work on them. Ella is the only Pahkitew Islander that travels at night. At least Ella has the courage to visit civilization once a week. Ella is desperate at this point, so she gets her Legendary encounter as a last-ditch effort to at least see some getting along within the team, capturing White Kyurem. Around this time, Amy captures a Klink of her own and befriends Ella. But then there's Dave, who begins to fear Ella ever since he caught a Reshiram. The Legendary encounter still did not work, as there is STILL constant battling. You would expect Ella to turn tail and get going the opposite direction should the going get tough, but she subverts expectations and makes Rockruff carry the weight, since Rockruff got Ella through the rival battle with ease. Ella pursues the Water/Ice/Flying combo so she can quite literally cool down her team members' tempers. Ella then captures a Phione, a Delibird, and a Swablu in that order. She also scores the "SHINY BONUS" with Delibird. But it still doesn't work, leaving Ella's team a mess. Ella might be the only Total Drama character whose team never got along at any point.

Ellody

Ellody started her adventure after finishing high school on a cloudy day. Ellody was motivated by the catch 'em all motif. After the failure at the Pokemon gym, Ellody realizes she needs more Pokemon and captures a Combusken. After Sky's whole "Necrozma arc", the Ridonculous Racers suddenly had their own little "Necro-obsession" as they call it, as they wanted one for themselves. Ellody was one of the racers who actually got her hands on one. Of the four racers that fell victim to Necro-obsession during Round 1, Ellody was the only racer that got Necrozma before the type destiny event. Thus, she was the first victim of Necro-obsession. Soon after getting Necrozma, Ellody was eager to unlock its true potential and thus takes on Necro-obsession like a man. Since Ellody was eager to see Ultra Necrozma, she decides that the best course of action is to capture Pokemon that Necrozma can easily train against, thus came her destiny of pursuing the Grass-Bug-Poison combo. Ellody then proceeds to capture a Dartrix, a Wurmple, and a Haunter in that order. She also scored the "SHINY BONUS" with Dartrix and Haunter.

Ennui

Ennui started his adventure after finishing high school on a cloudy day. Since Ennui had a gothic nature, he wanted to explore lost places along with Crimson and Kitty. Ennui then receives a Croconaw as his Starter Pokemon. The truth was that Ennui initially picked out a Totodile, but this particular one came holding a Rare Candy, which it ate soon after Ennui received it. The experience gain allowed Totodile to evolve, though the generator states that Ennui got Croconaw. Croconaw was wary of Ennui at first, most likely because of Ennui's gothic nature. Ennui then faces a criminal team member as his first obstacle. He lost, even though Croconaw tried to defend him. Ennui decides to continue the "middle-stage Starters" trend by traveling to Kanto and receiving a Wartortle in a similar fashion to how he obtained his Croconaw.

Eva

Eva started her adventure after finishing high school on a partly cloudy day. She was motivated by wanting to be the very best Islander. Eva scores the "SHINY BONUS" by receiving Sceptile as a Starter Pokemon, but it was wary of her at first, suggesting it knew about Eva's short temper.

Gerry

Gerry started his adventure after finishing high school. He was motivated by the catch 'em all motif.

Izzy

Izzy started her adventure after finishing high school on a snowy day. She was motivated by the catch 'em all motif. Izzy receives a Jynx as a Starter Pokemon. However, Jynx then tries to kill Izzy because she hated its appearance. Izzy next captures a Golett, and it seems to soothe Jynx's anger issues somewhat as they get along well enough. Izzy is easily the type of person to keep walking even if the sun is about to set. Izzy's journey took her across many regions. While Izzy's Jynx is the strongest member of the team, it is still emotionally distant, suggesting that the past has not been forgotten.

Jacques

Jacques started his adventure after finishing college. He started his journey because he wanted to meet new people. Jacques then gets Eelektrik as his Starter Pokemon, and it became his friend immediately. Jacques then faces a gym as his first obstacle. He does win the badge, but victory was tough.

Jasmine

Jasmine was one of two Pahkitew Islanders who suffered from the memory-erasing accident, the other being Dave. Like Dave, Jasmine started her adventure during a snowy day. Jasmine is motivated by the catch 'em all motif. After pushing her way through the snow, Jasmine obtains a Machoke as her reward. The new Starter Pokemon liked Jasmine. Jasmine then faces a rival battle against her lover Shawn. The battle ended in a tie.

Jay

Jay started his adventure during a sunny day. He was one of the four racers who suffered from the memory-erasing accident, though Jay accepted this as an "adversity twin". Jay wants to discover new Pokemon in an attempt to restore his memory.

Jen

Jen started her adventure after finishing high school. After Sky's whole "Necrozma arc", the Ridonculous Racers suddenly had their own little "Necro-obsession" as they call it, as they wanted one for themselves. Jen was one of the racers who actually got her hands on one (though Jen had to get therapy from Tom after realizing she had Necro-obsession). Unlike Sky who hated Necrozma, Jen actually loved it and was eager to see Ultra Necrozma as soon as she could. This goes along with why the trainer gave away Necrozma in the first place (the trainer could not activate Ultra Burst despite doing everything possible). However, this rash behavior got her into danger constantly. She is starting to teeter towards giving up when she captures a shiny Gothitelle. This renews her hopes in seeing Ultra Necrozma, so she continued her journey as if the whole "threatening to give up" episode never happened. But Jen keeps getting into danger all over again, especially against a particularly strong Poipole. After the Poipole incident, Jen gives up hope on ever seeing Ultra Necrozma and ends her journey right there. She does throw a farewell party in an attempt to avoid having to end her journey on a bad note, revealing some facts about her journey in the process (the Necrozma encounter had the greatest impact, hardest trial was taking down a criminal organization who was trying to steal her Necrozma, Delibird was her good friend but far from the strongest). However, the farewell party gets crashed by a Talonflame along with a Fletchinder army. Jen's Pokemon try to protect their trainer, but they are quickly outnumbered by the Fletchinder and collapse on the floor. Jen throws herself in front of her Pokemon so she can protect them, and this show of bravery allows Necrozma to reach Ultra Burst (though Jen does not realize this since she got separated from her Pokedex). Jen and her Pokemon then proceed to go after Fletchinder and Talonflame. There, Necrozma uses Light That Burns The Sky and drives off the bird Pokemon for good. Tom walks in on Jen's celebration to give Jen her Pokedex back, and that was when she found out the truth about Ultra Necrozma. Sky walks in on this and rubs in the fact that Jen gave up too soon on Necrozma, but she does not want to hear it, threatening to send Sky back to Dewford Town.

Josee

Josee started her adventure at age 10 on a partly cloudy day.

Katie

Katie started her adventure after high school on a snowy day. She is motivated by the catch em' all motive. Katie then receives a Weedle as her Starter Pokemon, which she nicknames "Buggy". Katie is the character that managed to find and tame Jeong-Suk the Brionne. Katie is a rare case of a Total Drama character that got an Egg before the Mark II rule. The Egg hatched into a Shiny Fletchga she nicknamed "Dia". The true colors as a Dialga were never shown until Katie decided to help Leonard with his journey. The big theme going on with the Islanders is that they can Mega Evolve any Pokemon they wanted as long as the generator did not already give them one. Katie was one of five Islanders to take the fan-made Mega approach as she wanted to Mega Evolve Dia.

Kitty

Kitty started her adventure at age 10 on a cloudy day. As a person that loved taking selfies, Kitty's goal was to explore lost places. Kitty started with a Lurantis, but at the time, it disliked her greatly. Kitty was then put to the test when she got attacked by wild Pokemon. Lurantis tried to fight off the wild Pokemon, but failed miserably. The failure made Kitty realize she is going to have to obtain more Pokemon, so she captures a Beautifly. It was a good choice of Pokemon, as it made the two Pokemon in her team love each other dearly. Kitty was one of the few racers who managed to resist the "Necro-obsession", as she was instead focused on taking lots of selfies with her Pokemon. Thus it was easy to decipher Kitty's greatest impact event, which was discovering a landmark of great beauty. Despite resisting Necro-obsession, Kitty still encountered a Necrozma when she helped several other racers take down a criminal organization who was trying to steal Jen's Necrozma. After all that Kitty went through, her Lurantis remained her strongest Pokemon and best friend at the end.

Laurie

Laurie started her adventure at age 15 on a snowy day. Laurie started her journey because she wanted to discover new Pokemon.

Leonard

Leonard started his adventure at age 15 on a sunny day, making him the only Pahkitew Islander to start the adventure at age 15. Leonard wanted to be the best Pahkitew Islander there ever was. Leonard then receives a Minun as his Starter Pokemon, but this earns him Amy's anger, as she wanted a Minun more than him. The Minun does take a liking to Leonard though. Leonard then faces a treacherous route. He achieves victory, but it was tough. Leonard next obtains a Lileep, but it seems to ignore Minun. Leonard only stops traveling when the sky gets too dark for him to continue. He also only happens to pass by civilization if it happens to be on his way. Though it is assumed that Leonard went from happening to visit civilization to avoiding civilization after he scores the "SHINY BONUS" with a Stakataka, an Ultra Beast. Leonard's new team cooperates well, but it could use work since Lileep still ignores Minun. Since Lileep ignores Minun and there's a Shiny Ultra Beast on the team, Leonard makes Minun carry all the weight. Leonard is destined for the Dark-Ghost-Psychic path.

Lindsay

Lindsay started her adventure after finishing high school on a partly cloudy day. Lindsay started her journey because she wanted to meet many people. Lindsay then scores the "SHINY BONUS" as she receives a Torracat as her Starter Pokemon. But Lindsay still has traces of being "the ditz" and calls her Torracat an albino. Torracat took offense to this and tried to kill Lindsay.

Lorenzo

Lorenzo started his adventure after finishing college. Ten racers got attacked by a mysterious Pokemon that caused disasterous weather (later revealed to be Topher's Lunala during Round 2), with Lorenzo being one of them.

MacArthur

MacArthur was one of three racers that got the "grew up in the wilds with Pokemon" event during Round 1. She started her adventure on a snowy day. MacArthur started her journey because she wanted to meet new people. MacArthur then receives a Glameow as her Starter Pokemon. Glameow was practically MacArthur's twin. The two then faced a treacherous route, but they easily triumphed with little resistance. MacArthur next obtains a Togekiss, and it gets along well enough with Glameow.

Mary

Mary started her adventure at age 10 on a rainy day. Mary was motivated by the catch 'em all motif. Mary then captures a Bunnelby to make her Starter Pokemon.

Max

Max started his adventure at age 10 on a snowy day.

Mickey

Mickey started his adventure at age 15 on a sunny day. While his twin brother Jay was trying to restore his memory, Mickey wanted to make the most of his journey and become a master coordinator. After Mickey explains his goals, he obtains a free Nincada to start out with. But this Nincada disliked Mickey greatly.

Mike

Mike started his adventure after finishing college. However, he was one of the Revenge friends that fell victim to the natural disaster that Cameron's Kyogre caused (though in Cameron's defense, he was only seeking out Lightning). Mike wanted to be the best Revenge character there ever was (in a similar manner to his love interest Zoey). After he makes it out of Santalune City in an attempt to get away from the disaster, Mike captures a Litleo and makes it his Starter. However, that Litleo tried to kill Mike, most likely because of Mal. Team Flare finds out about the Litleo's wild behavior and tries to take it off of Mike's hands. Litleo manages to fend the team members off, "Pokemon, I Choose You!" style. After that close call, Mike and Litleo begin to bond with each other. Mike continues his journey and eventually captures an Arbok. A problem arises when Arbok and Litleo seem to ignore each other, most likely because of Litleo's actions to Mike in the past. Still, it seems that Mike is the kind of person that only travels at night. In a similar vein to Cameron, Mike only visits civilization if he needs supplies. Mike then captures a Marill. The variety of types is good cause for the team to cooperate well. Litleo's past with Mike however means that the team could use some work. Also like Cameron, Mike seems to get past his obstacles because of dumb luck. Mike decides to branch out his type variety since that got his team to cooperate well. He seems focused on the Grass, Bug, and Poison types. This leads to trouble when he captures two Leavanny back-to-back. And the problems don't end there, as an Ultra Wormhole suddenly opens up in Kalos, where an Ultra Beast proceeds to enter and attack Mike. Not really, as the UB only wanted to have fun with him. Mike understands the UB's true motive and decides to capture it, thinking it will be satisfied that way. But since he is in Kalos, he is unaware of the UB's true identity as Poipole until Cameron tells him about it. Mike is the only Revenge character whose full team would protect him from anything. Mike's preferred method of travel is through an overgrown trail. Mike's journey took him all across Kalos. The strongest Pokemon that Mike faced was an Ambipom. Mike was in a dire moment when his Poipole manages to master Dragon Pulse and defeat Ambipom. And since that was the requirement for evolution, it proceeds to do just that, evolving into Naganadel. Yet another thing that Mike shares in common with Cameron is their desire to meet all the Pokemon in the world, but eventually giving up after realizing there are too many species. While Mike's Litleo did stay behind at some point, Mike was lucky that his Litleo did not die, considering everything they went through. At the end of his journey, Mike decides to give region travelling a try, and now he is residing in Kanto.

Miles

Miles started her adventure after finishing high school on a partly cloudy day. Miles started her journey because she wanted to discover new Pokemon, suggesting she was from Kanto. Miles was one of the racers who took down the criminal organization trying to steal Jen's Necrozma. Despite stopping the criminal organization, Miles still had to start over because she got the "Child of Mew" event (or else risk being called a Mary Sue). At the beginning of Round 2, Miles received the same events as she got on Round 1, starting the journey after high school on a partly cloudy day because she wanted to discover new Pokemon. Except during Round 2, Miles got a chance to watch a Pokemon battle before she got her Pokemon. Miles watched a simulation of Lycanroc vs. Skrelp. After that, Miles receives a Sandygast, but it ignored her. Miles scores the "SHINY BONUS" with her second Pokemon, capturing a Baltoy. Miles receives her third Pokemon after saving a Mudkip from a criminal organization. It was during Round 2 that the full force of "Necro-obsession" struck Miles, as she cared for an Egg that hatched into a Necrozma. Miles was one of the three Total Drama characters that hatched a Legendary Egg on Round 2, the others being Leonard and Owen. Miles then decides to take on a new type combination of Fire and Fighting, obtaining a Lampent and a Kommo-o (while scoring the "SHINY BONUS" with Lampent). The full team is considered family to Miles, as she got a chance to fully bond with the team. With the "Child of Mew" event no longer an option, Miles now considers her greatest event to be the Legendary Egg encounter. Even though Miles managed to turn things around with Sandygast and got it to bond with her, it remained far from the strongest, most likely because of her Legendary.

Noah

Noah started his adventure after finishing high school on a partly cloudy day. Noah started his journey because he wanted to be the very best Islander. Noah receives a Pansear as his Starter Pokemon. The big theme with the Islanders is that they got the chance to Mega Evolve whatever Pokemon they wanted as long as the random generator did not give them one already. Noah decides to participate in that theme with Rayquaza.

Owen

Owen was one of six Islanders that suffered the "memory-erasing accident" event. Things got worse when the weather was rainy that day. Owen decides to meet many people in an attempt to undo this event. Owen gets a Beldum as his Starter Pokemon, and it liked him. Since he suffered the accident in the middle of nowhere, it made sense that Owen's first big obstacle was the route in front of him.

Pete

Pete started his adventure at age 15.

Scarlett

Scarlett started her adventure after finishing college on a snowy day. Scarlett is motivated by the catch 'em all motive and receives a Shuppet as her Starter. Shuppet became Scarlett's friend immediately. Scarlett soon ran into trouble with a criminal organization, but she triumphs easily with little resistance. Scarlett next captures a Corphish, but it may have been a mistake as her Pokemon start to ignore each other. Scarlett still wanted interaction, so she would make several appearances during Sky's journey, being jealous after Sky shows off Necrozma. Jealousy turns into laughter once Scarlett sees that Sky's Pokemon are enemies. Meanwhile, Scarlett keeps walking no matter if it is day or night. Scarlett does visit civilization unlike Sky, but this is if Scarlett needed supplies. Scarlett is one of the rare Total Drama characters that got an Egg before the Mark II rule. The Egg hatched into a Shiny Rowlet, and Scarlett becomes popular because of it. Scarlett's plan for popularity backfires when it turns out that the three Pokemon in her team have horrible teamwork skills. As a result, Scarlett has to resort to hax to win her battles. Scarlett decides to turn to type variety to get her team to work together, choosing to pursue the Fire/Electric/Fighting combo. She obtains a Marowak, a Manetric, and a Meditite in that order. This "Triple M" combo seems to work, as it made Scarlett's team loyal to her. But they remain aloof. Scarlett continues to check up on Sky every now and then, such as after Sky captured Uxie. Scarlett does this by traveling through the wilderness. Even though Scarlett's real goal was to catch 'em all, she had a secondary goal, that being to convince Sky to change her opinion on Necrozma. She succeeded (or rather, Sky solely succeeded) after the Sky vs. Sugar battle resulted in Necrozma returning to change forms to Ultra Necrozma (and thus save Sky from losing to Sugar). But the result on her main goal may never be known, since Scarlett became a Champion herself after fighting her rival Max to do so. While Shuppet is still Scarlett's good friend, it is not the strongest; Manectric is. Scarlett then gets banished to Sinnoh so that BT Productions can spread the Pahkitew end results better.

Shawn

Shawn started his adventure after finishing college on a rainy day. Shawn started in Lavender Town and captured a Farfetch'd to make his Starter Pokemon. Farfetch'd was wary of Shawn at first, most likely because Shawn rushed in and captured it without a proper battle. Shawn then suddenly gets attacked by wild Pokemon. Even though Farfetch'd tried to fight off the wild Pokemon, it still lost. Shawn explores Kanto some more and captures a Poliwhirl. However, it doesn't seem to like Farfetch'd. If the sun starts to set, Shawn sets up camp immediately, most likely because of his zombie fear. Shawn only visits civilization if it happens to be on his way. It is then revealed that Shawn has to participate in Round 2 because he got the Child of Mew event (or else he risks being called a Gary Stu). Shawn experiences deja vu at the beginning of Round 2, all the way to the Farfetch'd being his Starter and how it became wary of him at first. Despite getting new Pokemon for Round 2, Shawn's team continues to be jealous of other people. With the Child of Mew event no longer an option, Shawn joins the list of Total Drama characters that became Pokemon Champion.

Sky

Sky started her adventure after finishing high school on a cloudy day, making her the only Pahkitew to start the adventure in cloudy weather. Sky started in Dewford Town and received a Medicham as a Starter from a trainer that was about to retire. Medicham even came with its Mega Stone as a bonus. Sky was eager to start meeting new people after the adventures she had on Pahkitew Island. Even Medicham liked the idea, as it became her friend immediately. Sky faced her first challenge when she battled a criminal team member (though whether the member was from Team Aqua or Team Magma was left uncertain). The criminal team member posed a serious threat against Sky, as she only manages to barely win. After that incident, Sky decided she needed a vacation. She takes a plane to Alola, only to be shoved out by Chris McLean as he deemed she was ruining his vacation. Sky crash-lands in Mount Lanakila and captures Necrozma (though she didn't realize it at the time). She scoops up her Pokeballs, an N-Solarizer, and an Ultranecrozium Z. Then she proceeds to make her escape, where she eventually finds Professor Kukui. Sky decides to get a proper Starter Pokemon, but Kukui won't allow her to have one because she already captured a Pokemon from Alola. Demanding answers, Sky encounters Scarlett, where she finds out about Necrozma. It is then revealed that Sky hates Necrozma, to the point she tried to release it, only to be stopped by Scarlett. This hatred is also evident when Necrozma keeps getting into fights with Medicham. Scarlett mocks Sky for this, but Sky is having none of it. Eventually, Sky encounters Max, who decides to "fix up" Necrozma by changing forms to Dusk Mane form on Scarlett's behalf. But Sky still hates Necrozma, even after Scarlett suggested that Sky teach it Sunsteel Strike. Throughout the journey, it becomes evident that Sky is only willing to sleep once it became too dark to continue. Sky's wish to meet new people is also becoming easier said than done, mostly thanks to Necrozma. As a result, Sky avoids civilization and never visits it. Things seem to turn around when Sky scores a Shiny Pokemon in the form of a Cacturne. The new team tries their best, only to be on completely different beats. No matter the danger, Sky's team pulls through every time. The combination of Psychic and Dark types in the team made Sky realize she can work best with and mostly train Dark, Ghost, and Psychic types. Sky proceeds to obtain a Houndour and a Mismagius, but by this point, she has had enough of Necrozma. Sky proceeds to release Necrozma (by stepping on its Pokeball) and take a plane back to Slateport City. But deja vu occurs when Chris shoves Sky out of the plane a second time, with Chris deeming Sky ruined his vacation a second time. Sky crash-lands in the Nameless Cavern, where she proceeds to fight and capture Uxie. Sky then travels back to Slateport City after hitching a ride on a trainer using an Eon Flute. Scarlett encounters Sky again and comments on her luck, but not much else happens. Sky is happy she released Necrozma when she did, or else her team would have been a chaotic mess. True to her name, Sky enjoys the air and spends time flying around when she can. Sky's journey technically took her to another region, but she eventually gains enough confidence to travel around the world. Sky faced a Spoink as her greatest challenge, but the only reason she considers it so is that she was scared of its Pokedex entry (if it stops bouncing, it dies). The encounter with Uxie left a great impact on Sky, to the point she thinks it had the greatest impact. Finally, Sky decides to challenge the Pahkitew League to become a Champion, but the hardest trial came when Sugar challenged her at the finals. Sugar's great strategy reduced Sky to her Cacturne, but when it seems like a loss was certain for Sky, Necrozma returns. Sky's hatred somewhat turns around when she thought that Necrozma saved her for a good reason. It turns out Sugar was only going easy on Sky because she thought Sky hated her Pokemon, but deducing the sudden change of tone says otherwise, Sugar orders a powerful attack. Sky is shocked at Sugar's sudden change in strategy and covers her eyes, but she inadvertantly activates Ultra Burst. This marks the moment where Sky sees Ultra Necrozma for the first time, and she is so impressed that she is on the verge of falling in love, signifying a change in heart. Sky then defeats Sugar with Light That Burns The Sky and becomes Champion. Sky also apologizes to Necrozma for hating it, and recaptures it in a Friend Ball. It seems that Sky made a mistake however, as Necrozma succeeds in killing Medicham. As punishment, Sky confiscated the N-Solarizer and the Ultranecrozium Z until further notice, but it turns out that was what Necrozma wanted all along. She decides to send those items away towards the Ridonculous Racers so that Necrozma can stay happy. Sky then proceeds to travel around the world again, ending her journey in Unova.

Spud

After Sky's whole "Necrozma arc", the Ridonculous Racers suddenly had their own little "Necro-obsession" as they call it, as they wanted one for themselves. Spud was one of the racers who actually got his hands on one. Spud is known as the only male racer who successfully obtained a Necrozma during the "Necro-obsession" arc. Though Spud was never aware he had Necrozma until Rock checked up on Spud's team. It is assumed that Spud suffered from Necro-obsession around the same time as Jen, as both obtained Dawn Wings Necrozma as the fifth Pokemon of their teams. After the Necrozma incident, Spud captures a Slowpoke. Spud's greatest event was discovering a hidden landmark of great beauty, while his hardest trial was realizing there were too many Pokemon to ever catch them all.

Sugar

Sugar started her adventure after finishing college. She is the only Pahkitew Islander to face a natural disaster (much to the amusement of BT Productions). Sugar wanted to be a master coordinator. After surviving the disaster, Sugar receives a Sneasel as reward. However, the Sneasel disliked Sugar. Sugar is the only Pahkitew Islander to face a gym as her first great obstacle.

Tammy

Tammy started her adventure after finishing college. Ten racers got attacked by a mysterious Pokemon that caused disasterous weather (later revealed to be Topher's Lunala during Round 2), with Tammy being one of them. Tammy wanted to be the best Ridonculous Racer there ever was. Tammy then receives a Combusken as her Starter Pokemon, most likely as a Torchic that evolved as soon as Tammy got it.

Taylor

Taylor started her adventure at age 10. Ten racers got attacked by a mysterious Pokemon that caused disasterous weather (later revealed to be Topher's Lunala during Round 2), with Taylor being one of them. Taylor started her journey because she wanted to meet new people. Taylor then receives a Glameow as her Starter Pokemon, and it became her friend immediately. Taylor then faces a rival battle as her first obstacle, but she fails miserably. After the loss, Taylor declares war and captures a Miltank, aspiring to be like Whitney.

Tom

Tom is Jen's partner throughout her journey and helped her if she needed it, such as during her Necro-obsession. After Jen was done with her journey, Tom went on a journey of his own to pick up where Jen left off. As such, Tom began his journey after finishing college. However, the same attacker that caused the disasterous weather that Jen faced also had to follow Tom. Since Tom is already aware of Dawn Wings Necrozma, he notes the similar appearance of the attacker (the attacker had no armor). Tom is able to identify the attacker as a Lunala from there, but he is still unsure of why it is randomly attacking the racers. One thing is for sure: Tom is motivated by the same goals as Jen, wanting to be a master coordinator.

Topher

Topher was a rare case, as he grew up with Pokemon before the Mark II rule banned this scenario entirely. He started his adventure on a snowy day. Topher wanted to explore lost places, marking another rare case since Mark II replaced this motive with becoming a Pokemon Champion. Topher gets a Wailmer as his Starter, but it becomes clear that he should've picked a different species as it tried to kill him. Topher faces a treacherous route. He does achieve victory, though it was tough because of Wailmer's behaviors. Topher obtains a Cosmoem next, and he thinks he is going to be famous since he got a Legendary that can evolve. This is also reflected in the relationship between Topher's Pokemon, as they get along well enough to be acceptable. Topher keeps walking even if the sun has already set for the day. Unlike Sky who had to avoid civilization because of Necrozma, Topher was comfortable with showing off Cosmoem and visits civilization once a week. It is revealed that Topher has to participate in Round 2 because he got the Child of Mew event and thus could be on the verge of being called a Gary Stu. As a result, his Pokemon are confiscated until he completes college. Cosmeom is angered at this and evolves into Lunala so it can return to Topher once college was over. During the wait for Round 2, Topher's Lunala attacked ten racers and caused disasterous weather for them. After Topher completed college, he began Round 2. Lunala then lets Topher know it missed him (in a not-so-pleasant way), before proceeding to join him as the Round 2 Starter. Even in the face of Round 2, Topher's team remains as his family. Since Topher had to discard the Child of Mew event for Round 2, his new greatest impact event is the Lunala encounter at the beginning of Round 2.

Trent

Trent was one of six Islanders that suffered from the "memory-erasing accident" event. At least the weather had some mercy on him, as it was sunny with some clouds. Trent wants to meet many people so he can get over the accident. Trent then receives a Slowking that became his friend immediately.

Tyler

Tyler started his adventure after finishing college.
